In Your Quiet Time

This exercise is designed to help you regain or fine-tune your inner and spiritual focus. What you are being asked to do is sit down at the end of each day and reflect on all that has occurred. Afterwards, write down “One Good Thing That Happen to You or For You Today”. Then on the line below that, write down “One Thing I Thank God For Today”.

Now keep in mind that God knows you need food, shelter, and clothes and in the Six Chapter of Matthew, He tells us not to worry about these things, but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. So saying today Lord I thank you for food on my table and the next day saying I thank you for clothes on my back, will not cut it.  He wants you to start noticing Him and how bless you really are. The only way to do that is to truly look at some of the good things that are happening to you and for you. Remember, you can only write down One.

***

It is said that the average person spent 18 hours a day awake; we only sleep four to six hours per day. That means that 18 times in that one day, God did something for you… did you notice? In those 18 hours, there were 1,080 minutes, which is 1,080 times that God did something for you. In those 1,080 minutes were 64,800 moments or seconds in that 18-hour day. That’s 64,800 times that God did something for you. That means that all through the day there were subtle or little things occurring to help you get through the day. The question is … did you notice?

When the Spirit of God is working in you, he will supply what you need inside to help you keep your cool and your inner peace, not allowing you to blow your stack, nor lose your focus. Sometimes he is quietly working in your spirit to help you make it through one of those troubling days.

God wants us to notice him in everything that we do, the Bible says, to acknowledge him in all thy ways and He will direct your path. Because of our hectic lifestyle and all the things that we go through or that go through our minds, it’s hard sometimes to notice Him and what he's doing for us. It's hard for an individual to do what the Spirit of God is saying do, when we are not paying attention.

It’s difficult for an individual to say that we are doing the will of God, when we really don't always hear His voice. Jesus said, my sheep know my voice and I know them.

If you spend the next Six days reflecting on everything that occurred and writing down one Good thing That happen to You or for You Today, then on the next line, you'll have one thing to thank Him for. In those 6 days you will have 108 hours or times you noticed Him. You will have 6,480 minutes or times you noticed Him. You will have 388,800 moments you spent noticing Him.

Now when we come together to Worship Him, Praise Him and Thank Him, you’ll have a lot of things to SHOUT about!
